Aegean Regatta Αστυπάλαια

Astypalaia Hosts the First Leg of the “Aegean Regatta” International Sailing Race

After a journey of 54 nautical miles, the first leg of the international offshore sailing race “Aegean Regatta” has successfully concluded, with the participating boats and crews arriving in Astypalaia! This challenging and prestigious race, organized annually since 2000 by the General Secretariat of the Aegean and Island Policy in collaboration with the Offshore Committee of the Hellenic Sailing Federation, began this year from the port of Patmos.

The sailors made the most of these conditions, hoisting their spinnakers for a fast and thrilling race that offered excitement and beautiful moments to all who took part!

This evening, the winners of the first leg will be awarded their trophies during a celebratory ceremony in Astypalaia. Tomorrow, Tuesday at 11:00 AM, the second leg of the race will begin, covering 40 nautical miles from Astypalaia to Nisyros.
