Green Astypalea with a model for electromobility

The car manufacturer Volkswagen is about to implement an extensive electromobility program, and the island of Astypalea has been selected to be the first to bring the “green” line to the Greek islands. Astypalea was chosen because, as stated, it has the ideal “profile” of an island developing at a mild pace.

The main goal is to replace all vehicles on the island with electric ones and to install charging stations for them. In addition, other model initiatives will follow to address key environmental issues, such as waste management.

Further announcements from the Prime Minister are expected in November.
